Youth Traffic Court is a program run by students, for students, with the support of adult advisors (Judges, Attorneys, Law Enforcement Officers, Program Coordinator, Educators, and Experts). The court offers teen drivers a chance to learn from mistakes, contribute to their communities, and avoid the lasting consequences of a traffic infraction. Instead of fines, insurance hikes, or a mark on their driving record, eligible student drivers can earn a dismissal of their infraction by participating in a restorative process designed to promote accountability and growth.
In addition to helping young drivers learn from their mistakes, Youth Traffic Court also gives all participating teenager an opportunity to gain real-world experience with the justice system. Students take on roles like advocates, mentors, and decision-makers, building skills in public speaking, legal reasoning, civic responsibility, and collaborative problem-solving.
